A busy weekend of chess for Lichfield members

The league season may be over, but Lichfield members are still competing in tournament and county chess:

  • Albert Chacko and Maurizio Baravalle competed in the 'Inter' category of the Leamington Open on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th May. Albert finished a very creditable 4th= on 3.5/5, and Maurizio on 1.5/5. (Final standings)
  • Connor Whetnall and James Hadley played for Staffordshire against Norfolk in the U1450 County Championships on Saturday 9th May, winning on Board 2 and Board 3 respectively. Sadly, the team were narrowly defeated 6.5 - 5.5. (Match card here).
