It was very pleasing to see an article about our pilot programme for a Lichfield Chess Academy published online in Lichfield Live in the last few days:
Chess academy launching in Lichfield to support young players
Lichfield Chess Club will give advice on tactics as part of initiative.

Many thanks to David Short for writing and distributing the article for publication. One of his quotes from the article:
"There is a gap between playing chess online and playing over the board – the academy will aim to bridge that during a four-week pilot programme.
"Each session will cover a different topic such as tactics, opening principles and controlling the centre, basic king and pawn endgames, analysing games and classic mating patterns."
